Yes. Florida is one of the few states that will issue a non-resident CHL for individuals that live in another state.
Is the Florida CHL really good in Texas?
Yes. Because Texas has full reciprocity with Florida, all Florida CHL's are valid in Texas. The state of Texas does not require that Texas residents have a Texas CHL in order to carry a handgun.

How can the class be only 5 hours?
Florida's training requirements are less stringent than Texas. We teach just the information you need to get your license, including the Texas law.
Am I circumventing the law by getting a Florida CHL?
No. You are merely following the letter of the law. We have contacted the Texas DPS on several occasions to verify that this license is good in Texas.
How long does is take to get my license back?
Florida states that it takes up to ninety days to receive your license in the mail. Many of our students have told us their license was received in only thirty days.
